The high quality piano samples are taken from a Yamaha concert grand to provide you with that rich, multi-dimensional sound of a real piano, encouraging you to play for hours. Alongside the fantastic piano tone, there are also electric pianos, organs, strings, vibes and harpsichords on-board and these voices can be mixed with Layer/Split function. You can also add even more depth to your sound with the 4 types of hall reverb that will truly create the atmosphere of playing at a concert venue. One of the key updates in the Yamaha NP12 from its precedent model NP11 is the USB connectivity. This opens a range of options from being able to use the keyboard as a Midi instrument to connecting it to your iOS device to use it with a wide range of Yamaha apps available to download for free. The instrument also has a headphone input for silent practice or amplification, sustain pedal connection and it can be battery powered, which means you can play virtually anywhere! The keyboard has useful features such as transpose and tuning for playing with other musicians and metronome, which is very useful for developing your rhythm and timing.
